mina grunts, arms folded and lips pouted at the scene unfolding in front of her. she’s sprawled across her couch in the tiniest pair of pajamas known to man, not giving a single fuck that her house is full of her male friends. her head rests on your lap as your fingers lazily play with her hair, listening to whatever sero’s rambling about.

it's a bad day for her. for one, her period's coming. she had the worst cramps at work today and almost ditched to go into hibernation. another thing, the weather sucked! it was all cold and wet, yucky, brownish snow everywhere. and she even slipped in some slosh earlier, and her ass was all soaked! safe to say, she was in a sour mood.

she doesn't even really wanna hang out right now, she'd much rather rewatch her favorite movies with you and snuggle all night. she's only here because when she got back from work, you were already hanging out with them, and who was she to be rude to guests, especially her friends?

mina huffs, her cheek squished against your thigh. you stare down at her with a gentle smile. her crop top exposes her midriff and cute stomach, and you fight the urge to squish the flesh before nuzzling your face on it, right where you belong. her fingers trace circles on your thighs mindlessly.

denki's gaze darts to you and mina with a grin. "pda much?"

bakugou hums with folded arms as mina sticks her tongue out with a roll of her eyes. "we're not in public, so it doesn't count."

denki mutters a small, "oh yeah thats true.." before poking her side playfully. she puffs out her cheeks, swatting his hand away grumpily.

mina huffs and sits up, rubbing her temples in annoyance. "just had a really long day, kay?" she mutters, visibly tired.

bakugou stares down at his phone, and yknow, like an idiot, he nonchalantly hums, "that time of the month?"

oh...! it doesn't matter that he's right- she's pissed. and when did this room get so fucking cold? mina's hands move up to cover her arms and you coo silently, scooting closer to warm her up.

"dude," kiri starts, deadpanning to his friend, who shrugs blankly, going back to scrolling.

“hmph! goodnight to my wife, fuck the rest of yall!” she huffs, aggressively smooching your forehead before getting up and strutting away.

kiri winces as denki turns slowly for effect. “what’s got her panties in a twist?” he chuckles boyishly.

“what a brat,” katsuki rolls his eyes affectionately, taking a sip of his drink.

you scoff at them with a tiny grin. men. “i think she’s sleepy,”

"wife is crazy," sero grins, leaning back in his seat. "very charming, eh?" he looks at you with wiggling eyebrows.

"they've been married," ejirou rolls his eyes with a smile. "yknow mimi told me they used to play boyfriend and girlfriend when they were younger?"

denki wolf-whistles teasingly in your direction, where you sit shaking your head in mock annoyance. "would you have taken a third?" he jokes, licking his lips. bakugou groans, unamused.

"you shush!" you point your finger at denki as others raise their brows and laugh.

hanta swats the back of his head, grinning as denki rubs it with a whine.

"kay, m going home." katsuki grumbles, standing up with an old man stretch. "let's go, losers."

you smile at him, quietly thanking him. katsuki's always wondered why you don't know how to remove yourself from something "without sounding mean", as you had whined. but it doesn't really matter, cuz he knows.

denki and sero pout stupidly. "wha?? it's still so early.." denki says, looking up at an exasperated bakugou looming over him.

"i'll drag your ass out, don't fuckin test me."

"bye!" denki and sero wave simultaneously, rushing out the door. kirishima kisses your cheek in thanks, wishing you goodnight. you watch the boys leave with a tired sigh and small grin.

you head to your bedroom, your fuzzy sock clad feet padding against the floor. you smile widely at mina's curled up position on the bed, wrapped in multiple blankets cozily. "what took you so long?" she grumbles, and you can't avoid the loud giggle that escapes from you. her pinched brows falter, and a little smile peeks out her lips.

you approach the bed, happily climbing onto your girlfriend as she lifts her arm to let you inside her warm cocoon. her eyes glimmer with affection as you kiss her pouty lips.

"my day was ass," she whispers, staring into your fond eyes. her arms wrap around you, pulling you down onto her soft chest. you get comfy, laying on her toasty body.

you giggle with a tiny pout, cooing softly. you look up, pecking her face like a bird. she laughs lightly, holding your arms so you can keep kissing her. "thank you," she breathes, closing her eyes. the randomly chosen movie she turned on is tuned out, and she can only hear the sound of your steady breathing along with your squeaky smooches.

“i hate those guys,” mina huffs, and you can’t help but smile because you both know that is a big fat lie. “they piss me off. keep them out forever.” she scoffs, readjusting both of you so you could lay your head on her chest. the plush skin of the top of her breasts make a good pillow against your face, and you exhale dreamily.

your hands come up to her sides, gently massaging her. “at least tomorrow’s saturday, we can stay in and shut the rest of the world out,” you grin as mina’s head nods up and down.

“are you sleepy?” she asks, like every night before bed. you hum a “mm-mm” in disagreement, your legs tangling in hers as you scoot up closer.

she pauses for a second, and you look up to see if she’s fallen asleep. she hasn’t, her eyes peeking down at you in thought. the moment she’s been waiting for all day finally comes. she grabs the remote from above her head, changing the movie she had on to open spotify. you hum, your eyes darting to the bright tv in the dark room, smiling as tommy february6's voice fills the comforting quiet.

"cmere," mina hums, sitting up. she leans her back against the headboard of the bed, bringing you onto her lap. you smile gently, grabbing her bonnet from the side and handing it to her. she pulls it over her hair while you reach over to the nightstand and put on your nightly lip mask before offering her some.

your thighs lock around hers, her soft pink skin making your heart flutter. she swipes on the lip mask after adjusting her bonnet, hands coming up to hold your waist as you put it back on the nightstand.

"meow," she says in a silly tone. you giggle, booping her nose. mina tugs you closer to her, her warmth radiating onto your body. "you're my little silly," she grins, flashing her tooth gems. she leans in to peck your shoulder lightly to not smear the lip product.

you squeeze her tightly, digging your face into her neck. she smells like bubblegum and cherry lotion, the scent only wanting you to get even closer to her.

mina yawns before her lips fall into a small unintentional pout. you pull away from her to grab her face into your manicured hands. "you're tired," you note, blinking down at her sweetly.

"yeahh, but i haven't seen you all day," she whines with a shrug.

you grin gently, smooching her forehead. "have all day tomorrow to be together," you hum. "let's go to sleep, mkay?"

your girlfriend's pout grows a little deeper, but she nods nonetheless and gets comfy with you, bodies as close as possible. she closes her eyes, falling asleep to the music humming from the tv.

𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐠𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐢 – “You don’t ever talk to them like that.”

Bakugou prided himself on being a damn good father. He wasn’t perfect, sure—he had a temper, his words could be sharp, and sometimes he wasn’t the best at handling emotions. But one thing he would never tolerate was disrespect toward the people who mattered. And you? You were the most important damn person in his life.

So when his kid—𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙠𝙞𝙙—had the audacity to speak to you like that, it was like a switch flipped in his brain.

The air in the room grew thick, heavy with tension as Bakugou slowly turned toward them, jaw tight, crimson eyes burning with something unreadable. He didn’t raise his voice. He didn’t need to.

“𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙢𝙚?”

His kid faltered, shifting on their feet, but still had that bratty defiance in their eyes. “What? It’s not a big deal—”

“The 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙡 it isn’t.” His voice was low, dangerous. “You think you can just say whatever the fuck you want to them and get away with it?”

His kid had inherited some of his stubbornness, but even they knew they had fucked up. “I was just mad—”

“I don’t give a shit.” Bakugou took a step forward, looming over them like an impending storm. “You ever talk to them like that again, and you’re gonna learn real quick what happens when I get 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 mad.”

His kid swallowed hard. Their defiance wavered, then crumbled under his intense stare.

“Now,” Bakugou continued, crossing his arms. “You’re gonna apologize. Properly.”

A beat of silence. Then, a muttered, “…Sorry.”

Bakugou narrowed his eyes. “Louder.”

“…I’m sorry.”

He let the tension sit for a moment before finally letting out a slow breath, some of the fire in his eyes dimming. “Good.” Then, he glanced at you, his face softening—just barely. His hand found the small of your back, grounding both you and himself.

“You okay?” His voice was quieter now, just for you.

You nodded, offering him a small smile.

Bakugou grunted, turning back to his kid. “You better remember this, ‘cause I ain’t repeating myself.” Then, with a sharp sigh, he ruffled their hair roughly, making them scowl. “Now go wash up. Dinner’s in ten.”

As they shuffled away, still embarrassed, Bakugou turned back to you, tugging you closer with an arm around your waist.

“Brat’s lucky they take after me,” he muttered. Then, softer, “You know I got your back, right?”

You smiled, resting a hand on his chest. “I know.”

And Bakugou? He’d make damn sure you never doubted it.

𝐊𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐚 𝐄𝐢𝐣𝐢𝐫𝐨 – “That’s not how we treat the people we love.”

Kirishima had always believed in being a kind, understanding parent. He wanted his kid to grow up strong, not just in body but in heart. So, when he overheard them talking to you with a sharp, disrespectful tone, it stopped him in his tracks.

For a second, he thought he misheard. But when he saw the look on your face—the hurt you tried to hide—something inside him tightened.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” Kirishima cut in, stepping forward. His usual warm demeanor was absent, replaced by something much more serious. “What did you just say?”

His kid hesitated, shifting uncomfortably under his suddenly heavy gaze. “I was just—”

“No.” His voice was firm, his expression unreadable. “Try again.”

They huffed, folding their arms. “It’s not a big deal—”

“It is.” Kirishima’s jaw clenched as he crouched down to their level, resting his forearms on his knees. He wasn’t one to raise his voice, but the weight of his disappointment was loud enough. “That’s not how we treat people. Especially not someone who takes care of us, who loves us.”

His kid looked away, suddenly finding the floor very interesting.

“I get it,” Kirishima continued, his voice softening but still firm. “Sometimes we get mad. We say things we don’t mean. But that’s not an excuse to be cruel.” He reached out, ruffling their hair gently before tilting their chin up so they had to look at him. “You’re better than that, kid.”

A beat of silence. Then, a quiet, “…I’m sorry.”

Kirishima glanced at you, his eyes warm with something unspoken before turning back to his kid. “Not to me.”

They shifted awkwardly before mumbling, “I’m sorry.”

Kirishima finally let out a small, approving nod. “Good.” He patted their back, his usual grin making a return, though a bit softer this time. “Now go wash up. We’ll talk more about this later.”

As his kid scurried away, Kirishima exhaled, running a hand through his hair before turning to you. His hands found your waist as he pulled you close, resting his forehead against yours for a brief second.

Mina prided herself on being a fun, understanding mom. She gave her kids the space to express themselves, encouraged their wild ideas, and always made sure they knew they were loved. But there were limits—clear, solid limits. And today? They had just crossed one.

It started off as a regular afternoon. You were in the kitchen, finishing up a snack for the kids when Haru, her eldest, let out an exaggerated groan.

“Ugh, why do we always have to eat what you make?” he complained, slumping in his seat. “Mom’s way better at cooking.”

Emi, his younger sister, snickered beside him. “Yeah, if it was Mom, we’d actually be eating something good.”

The words were sharp, dismissive. Maybe they didn’t fully realize it, but they hit hard. Mina saw the way you hesitated—how your fingers twitched for just a second before you covered up the hurt with a forced smile.

That’s when Mina’s expression dropped.

From where she was lounging on the couch, she slowly turned her head, pink eyes narrowed and dangerous. The atmosphere in the room shifted.

“Hold up,” she said, voice deceptively light. “I know you did not just say that.”

Haru and Emi froze. They knew that tone.

Mina stood, stretching her arms over her head before making her way to the table. “I must’ve misheard,” she continued, resting her hands on the back of Haru’s chair. “Because there’s no way my kids—my kids—would be so rude to the person I love.”

Haru shrank a little under her stare. Emi looked away.

Mina hummed, tapping her nails against the wood. “Wanna run that back?”

“It’s not that big of a deal,” Haru muttered, still trying to play it off.

Mina’s brow twitched. “Not that big of a—” She sucked in a sharp breath and let it out slowly. “Okay. Lemme tell you something real quick.”

She crouched down between them, resting her elbows on the table, voice dropping into something firm and undeniable.

“You do not—ever—talk to them like that. I don’t care if you’re in a bad mood, I don’t care if you don’t like what’s for lunch, and I don’t care if you think you’re being funny. What you just did? Not cool.”

Emi squirmed in her seat. “We didn’t mean it like—”

“I don’t care how you meant it,” Mina cut in, tilting her head. “What matters is how it sounded. And it sounded mean.”

Silence.

Mina’s gaze softened just a little as she sighed. “Look, I love you both. But part of growing up is learning when to check yourself. And this?” She gestured between them. “This is one of those moments.”

She stood up, placing a hand on her hip. “So. Try that again.”

Haru hesitated before glancing at you, guilt creeping into his expression. “…I’m sorry.”

Emi sighed, glancing down. “Yeah… me too.”

Mina smiled, ruffling their hair. “See? That wasn’t so hard.”

The tension in the air eased just a little, but Mina still turned to you, her expression softening. “Babe, you good?”

You nodded, though you still looked a little uneasy.

Mina frowned before wrapping an arm around your shoulders, pulling you in close. “You should never have to deal with that,” she murmured, pressing a quick kiss to your temple.

She turned back to the kids. “And you two? You’re lucky I’m the fun parent. ‘Cause if your other parent was Bakugo, oof—you’d be grounded for a month.”

They both paled.

Mina grinned, clapping her hands together. “Alright! Now eat up. Without complaining.”

As they reluctantly dug into their food, Mina leaned in closer to you, voice playful but sincere.

“Next time they pull something like that?” She smirked. “I’m making them do all the cooking.”

Denki always prided himself on being the fun parent. The one who made their kid laugh, who let them stay up a little past bedtime, who blasted music and had impromptu dance battles in the kitchen. But there were 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 lines that couldn’t be crossed, and talking to you like that? Oh, hell no.

At first, he blinked, not fully processing what he just heard. But when he saw the way you stiffened, the way you shrank just a little bit under his kid’s sharp words, his usual carefree expression dropped.

“Whoa, whoa, hold up,” he said, stepping between you two with a forced chuckle. His tone was light, but there was a hard edge underneath it. “I know I didn’t just hear you say that.”

His kid rolled their eyes, still caught up in their attitude. “It’s not a big deal—”

Denki crouched down, resting his arms on his knees as he looked them dead in the eye. “Nah. It 𝙞𝙨 a big deal. You don’t talk to them like that. Ever.”

“But—”

“No ‘buts.’” His voice lost the usual teasing lilt, turning uncharacteristically firm. “They do everything for us. They put up with my dumbass and your stubborn streak, and they don’t ask for much in return. So the last thing they deserve is for you to be an asshole.”

His kid flinched, their bravado starting to crack.

Denki sighed, reaching out to ruffle their hair. “I get it. Sometimes we say things without thinking. I do it all the time.” He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood just a little. “But that’s why we learn from it. And right now? You gotta learn to own up to when you mess up.”

They hesitated, then muttered, “…Sorry.”

Denki tilted his head. “C’mon, you can do better than that.”

His kid huffed before finally looking at you. “I’m sorry.”

Denki grinned, standing back up and slinging an arm around your shoulders. “See? That wasn’t so hard.” He shot you a wink before gently nudging his kid toward the hall. “Now go do something productive. Like…uh, actually, I dunno. Just go.”

Once they were gone, he turned to you, rubbing the back of his neck. “Damn. I feel like I just gave a TED Talk on respect.”

You snorted, shaking your head. “You handled it well.”

He gave you a lopsided grin before leaning in, pressing a quick, playful kiss to your cheek. “Yeah? Well, can’t have my favorite person feeling disrespected in my house. That just ain’t happening.”

And he meant every word.

Sero had always been the chill parent—the one who let things slide, who laughed off the little stuff, who never got too worked up over minor attitude. But this? 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 wasn’t little.

Hearing his kid talk to you like that made something inside him snap.

His easygoing smile disappeared as he slowly turned to face them, dark eyes unreadable. “𝙃𝙪𝙝,” he said, voice deceptively light. “You wanna try that again?”

His kid huffed, rolling their eyes. “I was just saying—”

“Nope.” Sero cut them off, standing up straighter, his usually relaxed posture gone. “Not like that. Not with that tone.”

They faltered, shifting under the weight of his stare. Sero wasn’t one to get angry—not 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮. But right now, there was something sharp in his expression, something that made his kid realize they’d messed up.

“We don’t talk to them like that,” Sero continued, his voice still calm but 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙢. “I don’t care if you’re mad, if you’re having a bad day, if the whole damn world is against you—that is not how you treat someone who loves you.”

His kid’s shoulders slumped, their earlier bravado fading. “I didn’t mean—”

“Yeah? Then say what you 𝙙𝙤 mean. The right way.”

A tense pause. Then, finally, a quiet, “I’m sorry.”

Sero nodded, crossing his arms. “Good. Now go take a breather, and when you’re ready to actually talk about what’s got you acting out, you know where to find me.”

His kid hesitated, then shuffled out of the room, leaving the air thick with the remnants of tension.

Sero let out a slow breath before turning to you, his features softening instantly. “Hey,” he murmured, reaching out to pull you into his side. “You okay?”

You nodded, leaning into him. “Yeah.”

His arms tightened around you, chin resting on top of your head. “They’re lucky I’m the chill one,” he joked lightly, lips quirking into a small smirk. “’Cause if Bakugo was their dad, oof.”

You chuckled, shaking your head. “You handled it perfectly.”

“Damn right I did.” He pressed a soft kiss to your forehead. “Ain’t no way I’m letting anyone—𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 our kid—disrespect my favorite person.”

And with Sero, that was a promise.

𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐮 𝐇𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢 – “You don’t get to talk to them like that.”

Shinsou had never been the loud or overbearing parent. He didn’t believe in raising his voice to make a point—he didn’t have to. His presence alone was usually enough to command attention.

But when he heard his kid speak to you with a sharp, dismissive tone, something inside him went cold.

He didn’t react immediately. Instead, he set down his coffee, exhaling slowly as he turned to face them. “What did you just say?”

His kid faltered for a second before crossing their arms. “It’s not a big deal.”

Shinsou’s violet eyes darkened, his jaw tightening just a little. “It is,” he said, voice quiet but carrying weight. “And you know it.”

The room felt 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙮 in the silence that followed. His kid shifted, suddenly realizing they’d walked straight into something they weren’t prepared for.

Shinsou leaned forward slightly, keeping his gaze locked on them. “I don’t care how upset you are. I don’t care if you’re having the worst day of your life—you 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 take it out on them.” His voice never rose, but each word landed like a carefully aimed strike.

His kid bit their lip, looking down. “…I didn’t mean to.”

“Maybe not.” Shinsou finally stood up, crossing the room until he was standing beside you. His presence was protective, grounding. “But you still did. So now, you’re gonna fix it.”

A pause. Then, finally, “…I’m sorry.”

Shinsou nodded once. “Good.”

The tension in the air eased just slightly as his kid shuffled away, guilt written all over their face. Shinsou let out a slow breath, rubbing the back of his neck before turning to you.

“You alright?” he murmured, his tone softer now.

You nodded, but he still saw the way your shoulders were a little stiff, the way your hands fidgeted. So, without another word, he pulled you into him, his arms wrapping around you securely.

“You know they love you,” he mumbled into your hair. “They just need to learn how to handle their emotions better.”

You sighed, sinking into his warmth. “I know.”

Shinsou pressed a soft kiss to the top of your head, his grip on you firm, unwavering. “I’ll make sure they do.”

Everything you once saw, the brightest of grass and the crops ripe and perfect, and the animals in the barns chirping of happiness— it was all gone. once a happy place you roamed in the summer as a kid was now a abandoned filthy place, old bards with holes and damaged walls. Nothing was what it used to be, the grass was as tall as small trees and it was going to take a lot of lovin.

But if your granddad taught you one thing is that; working for a better future would make everything you did it worth it.

And that’s exactly why you are here, to make your future. Everything in your life was about becoming a farmer, like your grandfather. and like him, you believed hybrids deserved to be in a safe and open land to roam, not such in some metal factory and enclosed to live their life.

“Come join the number one hybrid farm in Japan, The League.” the tv rung in your ears back at the college room, the place had been taking over everything and running all the local and good places out. at one point the only place you probably could work at was The League, since they seemed to be everywhere. “New locations, New Areas, And New Pay. Call the number on your screen for more information.” you had heard the commercial so many times you rolled your eyes everytime.

Never did you believe they would come out here, and be the competition. 

Honestly, the first day your body was drained easily from all the work. The labor wasn’t exactly what you were expecting to start off with, moving the rooks and weeding. But you had supplies to start off with thankfully, the money he left you was so much, and ready for a new purpose. But the only thing that was helping you in all of this, your holy grail was a local store owner. Arthur, who happened to be your grandfathers best friend.

slapping the metal truck with the gloved hand, the old man smiled and stepped down from the back of the moving truck. you whipped off the sweat from your skin and catch your breath as the unpacked heavy boxes placed besides you and man.

“The old man used to buy twice as much as this and unload it all him, then complain when his back hurt afterwards. Lucky, he had me to talk some since into him.” the white haired man spoke breathlessly. you didn’t want him to have to help, seeing his age but he was in better shape then you by the looks of things. “Old bat was stubborn, you got that in you kid?”

taking a deep breath you arose from the bend down position you were in and look at the man, smiling a bit you commented back. “Used to give granddad a run for his money, I think I have it in me.” you were earned with a deep chuckle and a small one from yourself. starting back up again you closed the doors and gave the man who drove the truck the okay and he drove away.

the next day was worse then the first, your body was sore and tired, you wore sunscreen all over your body to protect you from the heat damage and the illnesses you could catch. unpacking all the equipment, getting them put together, and make sure the starter crops are taken care of. you took many breaks. and Arthur was the greatest help you could ask for.

you heard the story of how he met your granddad many times before, but you didn’t mind hearing it from his side. Arthur had moved from the United States to start his business with his family, and your grandfather was just started out in town. they were younger and bonded right away, and there for marriages, children and grandchildren. knowing he wasn’t as alone when you left was comforting in a away but you knew the full story. just before your tenth birthday you were moved away from the small town with your parents and left the farm behind.

“He talked about you every day.” The words perked up your ears. You looked at Arthur as he continued to work on a huge fan.

“Everything that happened in your life, he would tell me. What happened at middle school sport events, to dances and even show pictures of the dresses you wore. And man, when you went to college for Hybrid Education he was bursting with energy again.” It’s been a long time since he was able to leave the cabin. You knew that, but knowing still punched you in the guts.

“Was he proud?” asking was a waste of time.

“Proud as hell, there should be no doubt about it. His pride and joy was you, more then anything he did here, and now you have a legacy to continue.” smiling you continue to work to hold yourself from the weight building up in your chest. you missed him so much.

Each day there was something new to fix and call in, you knew granddad was rich from the bank account he left you. but boy, it sure was a lot of money. and now, you finally had a starting point. you had scheduled a barn repair on the electrical and building. the crops were set up along with the sprinklers and scare crows, even cleaned out the well…but not without getting algae all over you.

Smalltowns in the country side where the best, everyone in the community was helpful towards one other. And since The League had a location down the road, the people really came together. Businesses were losing in hybrid projects and animals, but the crops were the same. But this met more hybrids lost there homes, and had to be relocated elsewhere else or to The League…You hated it.

A big wooden sign at one of the joint shop centers made you smile and turn into the lot. today was the weekly event, selling of many things of local produces. you remember coming here as a kid and always getting blueberry jam from the market lady. and just like then, it was crowded. and with a lot of stalls and moving trucks. Arthur had told you they still had them and that you should check it out. of course you wouldn’t miss this for anything.

you shut the truck door and fixed your clothes before started the walk around. everyone was selling amazing things at their booths. the first table you saw was one cover in homemade soap bars and honey products. a sweet older couple ran that shop. some stalls were for hybrids for sale but you didn’t have room for them, at least until the barns are rebuilt. but milk, crops and seeds where your thing anyway to look at.

“how much for this?” the only person behind the table was a young girl who looked angry and ready to chew off your head, it was laughable. she was going to be hard to haggle, but a amazing work ethic. “I don’t know you, so twenty bucks.” your eyes widen and look down at the honey in your hand. it was a very small jar…and not worth it, I mean for the bigger bottles sure.

“Hmm, how about ten?” the small girl glared at your words and huffed. she shook her head in annoyance and pointed to the tag, “you trying to get out of paying hard working people lady? signing you pull out a twenty and handed it to her, she smiles so kindly you forget about the anger she had. placing it in your cloth bag you continue walking down the path, smiling and looking around. not much you could buy yet, though you did buy from groceries and loaded the up in the bed of the truck.

“well if it ain’t the talk of the town,” a sweet woman’s voice called out loudly. you turn your gaze and see a almost forgotten face, but one that filled you with joy and nostalgia. “Aunty Hoshiko.” You scream and rush over, the older woman comes out form her booth and takes you into her arms. only now did you realize the sweet small of jam and the jar’s decorated like they used to be, but this area was bigger and a extra tent was behind it.

“I couldn’t believe you moved back here after moving to the city, heard you got into a good college.” She smiled from cheek to cheek while pulling away. “Why come back here?” it was flattering how much she thought of you, but you couldn’t have stayed away from this place for much longer.

“Well, grandpa left me the farm and I needed to start my new life. Can’t get much better then a already laid for land, and with great soil.” she hummed but her eyes dropped a little and her smile became different. “I’m so sorry, he was a good man. you tell me if you need any help okay? Your granddad helped us a lot, so many people in town will be willing to do help too.”

“I’ll keep that in mind,” you smile and take a peek at the table, “mind if I look?” she is excited to show you all the new flavors and jars she has, letting you smell each one. she even offers you a discount for family.

you had a few jams picked out but you keep looking at everything, knowing you’ll come home with more. then there was a sign and paperwork around on a tables end.“Hybrid Rescues” is what you read and your hands reached for it immediately. seeing your interested, Hoshiko started to talk.

“The League has been running out businesses, hybrids are either purchased or…end up alone and abandoned. My friend runs a rescue company, we help her out here trying to give some of them a home.” you clinch the paper in your hand and want both more then to go punch the owners of the company. No hybrid deserves to be left alone.

“I usually have a few here with me, but today only one is for sale. He’s very special. And a house animal, or helper if you will since I know you don’t have much room for more yet.” the next step was to always get hybrids, but you weren’t sure if today was the best idea today…

“Oh!” that wasn’t your choice since she pulled your arm and lend you into the tent where only one hybrids sat. you struggled to look away from the hybrid laying in the floor.

He was huge. he looked peaceful tho, curled up on a bed and resting peacefully. he had long and pointed ears, a middle tail that curled. “he’s a special breed, no idea why they didn’t keep him since he must have cost a fortune.” there was a small scar on his arm and you hated to see, it looked like cattle whip strokes.

“tenya,” she called out quietly to wake the dog. you really didn’t know if you should get a hybrid, but seeing him already you knew you couldn’t say no. his furry ears twitched and his body rolled over ready to see what was happening. he was fast, and he was built. a pure breed for herding and hard labor. “I have someone here who needs a dog to help around the farm.” she patted you on the back and you got shy for some reason.

His tail was sticking up, his eyes glancing over and panicked. he was on high alert. “Hey buddy, my names y/n.” You smile softly. You don’t want to move until he gives you a sign. his nose sniffs into the air for a moment and his body freezes, you both stop for a minute too.

until the thumping of his tail was heard and he jumped up to greet you properly. you are taken aback and he gets excited and starts to shout, you can’t help but to smile. “My names Tenya, I am apart of the Iida breed. I have experience in herding, working and defending territory. I have many skills,” his hands reaches for hers and stuffs it into his nose to get a proper smell.

“Hello to you too,” you giggle. having some help now would be good, and a herding dog would the best thing.

“Tell me iida, are you okay with maybe coming home with me?” if it was only a dog he would for sure be jumping on you from how happy he seems to be.

Iida didn’t want you to leave to get things needed, saying it was his job to be with you now but you need to find food and things before leaving. he whined forever until he saw you again.

you came back to get him…like you said you would. he loved you, loved you so much. the kindest human he’s met.

Riding back to the farm was a journey. he was talking every second about all the things he could do, from each animal, hybrid or not. boy, was so happy to be by your side. and he was asking about you too. why you picked him? what you wanted him to do.

your heart broke once you got back to the cabin.

you held the door open and called for him to come in, but he just stood on the porch looking at you almost guilty. “Hybrids aren’t aloud inside, I must protect you from out here.” he was already looking for a place to set up for the night. it was a miracle you didn’t start crying again.

“Well, whoever told you that was a idiot. Many dog hybrids are aloud inside, and it’s my house so my roles go.” you tap the door again. he was hesitant, and it took about ten minutes to get him inside. and you told him to stay put while you get the things from the car…then told him it was a order to get him to stay.

you placed the things on the floor and smiled, proud of yourself. “Okay, so I got a large mattress for you. We can place it anywhere you want, also got you special food, hybrids approved.” he looked at the mattress for a long minute. Iida couldn’t believe it was his, he hadn’t slept on one of them since he was little, and then at the market earlier. And this one was his, made for his height and weight for him to sleep…inside.

“Your bought this for me?” He asked while poking at the bed, it’s softness amazed him. once he accepted his reality his tail starts to swing like crazy and crawled over to you, and hugged you lovingly.
